Jack and the Beanstalk Review Theatre Clwyd

Nothing says Christmas is here until you have seen a great panto and this truly was brilliant

By Catherine Davies – Egwyl vice president.

Theatre Clwyd are known for putting on great pantos and yet again they did not disappoint, from the brilliantly designed set, a full moving mechanical giants arm to the magic beans growing in to a life-sized climbable beanstalk from a trapdoor, my 10 year old boy was truly captivated in the magic.

The cast were absolutely outstanding from belting out tunes from a range of different eras to squirting the audience with water guns and a giant sausage being passed through the aisles. Dame Dolly Dumplings (Phyl Harries) was especially on top form with some risky jokes that had everyone roar with laughter.
