Glyndwr Students Produce Brand New Web Series

Three Glyndŵr students have produced a new sci-fi comic web series, The Sojourn.

Created by Daniel Orrett, who runs the YouTube Channel Spacedock, the series follows the crew of the Guinevere as they lead an expedition into uncharted space in search of resources for a starving human race.

Students, Kallum Weyman (Theatre, Television and Performance), Hayden Emmett-Bird (TV Production) along with Glyndwr graduate Alasdair Mccabe (Renewable Energy Engineering) all met through Wrexham Glyndŵr University’s Science Fiction Society. Together, through collaborating with others, they’ve managed to create this brand new series.

The 20-minute pilot episode, which has been funded by Spacedock, is currently in production and will be out by the end of the year. The release will be
accompanied by a Kickstarter to fund a 10-episode run of the show.

Influences for the show have been taken from James SA Corey’s The Expanse as well as the video game series Mass Effect. Themes centred around struggle, hope and discovery will be explored.
