An intrepid group of Wrexham Glyndwr University students are, as we type, currently at the start of an epic 56 hour radio broadcast for Children in Need.

To say we are impressed would be something of a major understatement.

Flabbergasted, in fact, would be a better word when it comes to what the team of Wrexham Glyndwr broadcasting, journalism and media communications students are doing over the next few days to raise cash for Children in Need.

Our intrepid team – Jamie Davies, Jack Price, Dan Middleton and Harry Wright – began their 56 hour broadcast on Wrexham’s Calon FM community radio station at 8am today (Wednesday).

They won’t hang up their headphones until 4pm on Friday.

Yes, you read that right – 56 hours. Fifty. Six. Hours. Gulp!

There will be chat, interviews and live music along the way, so we hope as many people as possible will tune in and support them.

Will they manage to stay awake? Will they lose their voices? Will they run out of coffee? How much will they raise for this marvellous cause? These are all questions that we want our lovely Egwyl reporting team to be asking.

So watch this space for more news on our Calon FM mammoth broadcast team over the next few days.
