Hawkwind coming to the William Aston Hall
17th April 2016, William Aston Hall, 7pm, tickets from: http://bit.ly/1SnNqCK
Rocketing into the William Aston Hall this April with their spacey sounds and even spacier stage shows, Hawkwind will be crash landing for one night only in Wrexham as part of their ‘The Machine Stops’ tour. The show will feature songs from their new album (to be released 15th April 2016) based on E.M Forster’s dystopian short story of the same name in which the humans live underground and depend upon the machine for their every need. ‘The Machine Stops’ brings us warnings of technology, it’s effect on society and the isolation it can bring.
If you are unaware of Hawkwind and their galactical brilliance then trust me, you are in for a mind blowing treat. They are a Space Rock band (in fact one of the pioneers of the genre) who were formed in November 1969 in London. The band’s current line-up is made up of the original overlord of Space Rock – Dave Brock along with Tim Blake, Richard Chadwick, Mr. Dibs and Niall Hone.
Over the years, Hawkwind’s stage shows have become the stuff of legends; you can expect to see dancers, psychedelic lighting, stilt walkers and projections. Those of you who are already dedicated followers of these cosmic kings, you know what’s in store; and it certainly isn’t a night to be missed. Come with us on this mesmerising cosmic trip; it will be out of this world – quite literally.
